Nineteen-year-old Japanese Moto2 rider Shoya Tomizawa has died after a crash during Sunday's San Marino Grand Prix, the second death in the sport in two events.
"There is this information that there was a Bullet motorcycle with two riders which applied an emergency brake and Sudikha's two-wheeler then crashed into it from behind. She died due to injuries in the accident," Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh said.
The 37-year-old Santosh, who was representing the two-wheeler manufacturing giant in one of the world's biggest rallies, suffered the crash last Wednesday and was airlifted to a hospital in Jeddah.
Sudiksha, an academically bright student, was pursuing a graduation course in entrepreneurship at Babson College, Massachusetts, US, on a scholarship and was scheduled to go back on August 20.

The daughter of a tea-shop owner, Sudiksha Bhati died on Monday morning near Aurangabad when she was riding pillion on a motorcycle with her younger brother, a minor, they said. Passenger vehicle wholesales in India increased by 17 per cent in the second quarter of the current fiscal year as buying sentiment improved and companies stocked up to cater to enhanced demand in the festive season, auto industry body SIAM said on Friday. However, commercial vehicles sales saw a dip of 20.13 per cent at 133,524 units in the quarter under review as compared with 167,173 units in July-September 2019.
